Bikes: 2010 Schwinn Madison, 1997 GT Timberline S/S Conversion

Today I almost finished my GT mountain bike conversion. Went to the Recyclery to find a derailleur hanger for my chain tensioner. I couldn't find the old one and got lucky finding a perfect fit. I think I may have donated it and I ended up buying it back. Anyway, got home, got the chain right, and went to work on the brakes. The last step. I made a stupid mistake. I ran the brake line through the housing for the rear brake to get an idea how much housing I needed and then I laid it down to get a tool. Came back to the housing and cut right through the brake line. Cut it WAY too short. And the bike shops are all closed. I'm hoping that is a common rookie build mistake and not just another sign that a picture of me belongs in the jackass thread.

So close to finishing... But, I got to ride it for the first time with just the front brake. This is my first complete tear down and rebuild. Major rush when you're finished. Feeling very accomplished.
