It almost seemed like Alan and Vitus had a competition back then on who can sell the most bikes to other companies. I think this is basically a duplicate thread in the valuation forum, there is another with Holdsworth in the title that does have images. Foil Holdsworth stickers on an Alan.
Perhaps Ben did not get enough reaction to the first thread so he restated it a bit differently the second time.

You are correct, both Alan and Vitus were selling rebranded frames to many. My only conjecture is it provided some shops access to the product where they were not authorized sellers of the original mfgs.
