I have never really looked at the SE Lager until I saw your link. It has nothing to offer in the $420 price range, add sales tax---maybe a bit over thirty bucks and you're at $450 for......................????
It might be a bit better than a $129 Wally Thruster but it's worlds behind the value of the Kilo TT.
The salesman may point out that it has "ThickSlicks" but remember it also has "resin platform" pedals. ThickSlicks are not all that great of a tire and "resin" pedals mean ten buck plastic parts. On top of that the site says it weighs 26 pounds.
If you get the Kilo, you get a $175 frame, $150 wheel set AND handlebars, cranks, tires, bottom bracket, brakes, tubes and a chain. Along with a whole bunch of other two buck parts, shipping and no tax. It's a steal.
The only thing that you might add to start off with is get a 18-20 tooth freewheel. I think it would improve your biking experience to start off with. There will be lot's of time to go fixed down the road.
