I've toured back in the days when bikes weren't so common in the hinterlands (or as reliable as they are today). I also sail, and scuba dive and would never leave someone in the water.

Like you and Blanche Dubois, I too have depended on the kindness of strangers, and I've never been disappointed. Conversely, I always stop because that's the thing to do, and I've never had real cause to regret doing so.
