Can you not sew it on instead with a good sewing machine? If your machine protests too much because the fabric is so dense, how about taking it to a place where they use a heavy duty industrial sewing machine to put it on. I agree with the company on that one. I examined the bags for myself. If the outer fabric can take the heat, the linings, zippers, or other items might not. Be cautious and err on that side.
