The elapsed time refers to the total time that your Garmin was on before it was either powered down and synched, which will create a new file, or you hit "lap," which will create a break in the TCX file. It counts your stopped time and everything. Time indicates the time between the point at which you hit the stop and start buttons to begin and end your ride and of course moving time is the time you're actually moving on the bike and not stopped at lights.
My 705 doesn't work that way. Elapsed Time is the time between pressing Start and Stop. I'm sticking with my definitions above.
