I've looked for this before and also looked for a more specific forum for it but couldn't find it. If there is one please accept my apologies and point me out in the right direction.

Right, my problem is that yesterday while trying to tighten my chainguard on my alivio crankset I realised that the bolts no longer worked. They spin and it is really impossible to connect them securely to the gear.

If on its own they do attach correctly to the gear but not through the plastic cover. So there's something wrong with the groves on the plastic chainguard I assume.

I was wondering if this part was replaceable or maybe using larger / longer bolts would work. Any ideas are highly appreciated
