Longtime reader of this forum thread finally ready to make the plunge on my first bike since grade school. I figure that I'd like to buy a bike with better components initially to avoid paying for costly upgrades later and I'm comparing the Specialized Crosstrail Pro Disc vs. Expert Disc.

My main rationale for this type of bike would be to do some recreational riding around the city for fitness and go trail riding on the weekend in the mountains and my local LBS shop suggested this bike. I don't know the main differences between the Pro Disc but do like the paint job more! Also, should I consider the Sirrus model line?
