i read your post and was also curious why my '84 club had the 'fuji' branded suntour vx-s rear derailleur instead of the arx. this led me to a scathing entry for the arx at disraeli gears. the vx-s has a higher capacity (30t), is well thought of on the disraeli site, and most importantly, works perfectly with my new sunrace 6-speed. it might not be as pretty as my old late '70s cyclone gt (previously on my '76 moto before replaced with campy record), but it seems to work better (in my very limited experience) and the cable anchor is one of the most well designed and reliable i've seen. so, for now, i'll be keeping it. thanks again for the info...
