Super cheap are usually super cheap but once you start getting into the Deore territory, the parts are very durable and last a long time and the higher up the food chain you go, the lighter they get but they don't usually get more durable.

I always thought of the Deore/105/Tiagra range of products to be the sweet spot. Good durable products with reasonable weight.
