Relatively speaking, yes. Especially if you opt for high end rear derailleur; but, they can be had cheaply, too. I would look at it as a self install.

In all honesty, I think you would be happy with the 9spd rear.

Another nice thing about the Sirrus line - I think they are all set up for fenders and racks......
