Tina Louise was an accomplished dancer and singer... when the series ran Natalie Shafer was already in her mid 60's and still stunning looking. She was very secretive about her age and told people she was born in 1912 when she really had been born in 1900.
In the show she asked that they write her character in as a bit of a ditz and she played it so very well.
Not that Tina Louise was not smoking hot...
