I agree that actual bikes are much more fun!

The good that's come out of this recent experience at the Y is that, were I now to go shopping for a new bike, I would pay much closer attention to the design and feel of the seat.
Don't write off an otherwise perfect bike because of the saddle it comes with - you can always change the saddle.
