Why in the name of God did you drop $143 on wool shorts for your first pair of shorts?

Wool cycling shorts totally sucked back in the day. The get sweaty and saggy and nasty. Perhaps the modern ones with nylon are an improvement (now only sweaty and nasty)

I still have to believe they are substantially inferior to a good pair of lycra shorts, which can be had cheaper, or a very good pair at the same price.

And then there's the whole issue of bibs versus shorts.
