Why are you worried about some older stuff? That stuff isn't as old as most of my bikes and their components and ride them all the time. One of my bikes I had built new in 1984 with Suntour Superbe components, those components and the bike have over 160,000 miles and still function just fine. I wouldn't be scared of early 2000's components that's for sure.
