Today I rode 20 miles, longest ride ever, and fastest average speed ever. It was also my first time with biking shorts, which I really believe add about .5 mph to my speed. Before my butt was getting sore early, causing me to stand up and slow down, but today, although I did have a bit of saddle soreness, my fitness was definitely my limiting factor, which is good, because If I can push harder, my fitness will improve.
I now have 54 miles for the month, and I'm half way to my goal. Since today's ride was so good, I'm going to reward myself with some clipless pedals.
