Second event in the 3-omnium Encino Series. Cat 4 was a larger field this time with a few big guns. My flying 200 was only good for mid-pack (no points). Need to work on that. In the points race (40/10), I had a random point or two early, and then broke away with about 5 to go for final sprint. Teammate bridged with 2 to go, worked together to stay away. He was in contention for overall, so I did not contest. I felt good going into the scratch race, and was intent on sitting back and conserving until end... the opposite of my usual m.o. But (always my worst fear), I missed the break of 4, and used a lot of energy bridging alone, so couldn't come around any of them at the end (no points). In the earlier session, I won the 50+ category again, though small field (Flying 200, win-n-out, Tempo).
