First race. Recon'd route on Saturday and was aware of the nasty rollers on Hawkins, what I didn't expect were 18mph and above sustained winds on Sunday. Took a big pull to hurt the small group, I got hurt. Ended up in no mans land twice while catching and working with other OTB riders. Ultimately rolled in with 3 others but that wind was nightmarish. Also discovered I can't ride with 1 bottle cage, was very thirsty for the last 12 miles and watching the water slosh inside someone's clear bottle didn't help any.

I'm hooked.
