I'm a relative newbie, so hopefully this is an easy question.

I received a wheel the other day with a strange looking hub - picture here:

I've only seen Shimano hubs before, but not one like this. I thought maybe it was a Campy hub...maybe it is?

I got a cassette that purports to be compatible with both HG (Shimano) and ED (Campy) hubs, but it also does not fit on the hub. Picture here:

Now I'm all confused. Neither the hub nor the cassette look like anything I've seen before, and they don't fit one another. Would somebody be able to point me in the right direction? What is the hub standard and what is the cassette's standard? Which one is off?

Sorry for the sadly ill-informed question, but I'm a little lost at this point.
