Another alternative for using a Campy spaced cassette with a Shimano rear derailleur and shifter is a Jtek Shiftmate of the proper model. A #1 Shiftmate will allow a 10-speed Shimano shifter and rear derailleur to match a 10-speed Campy cassette. These things are $40 and add a slight bit of complexity to the cable's initial installation but they work wonderfully.
