I've never been to NYC, but I do have a friend who is a truck driver and drives from here (Colorado) to Montreal, NYC, then home. He said he's backed a truck down a street like that before in order to deliver the goods within. Sometimes ya just have to, I guess. I can certainly see how that would be a pain in the rump for us cyclists though (not to take sides).
