Bikes: Still a garage full

Check out the DC REI store. The sales people are typically knowledgeable and unpushy. Plus, you get 10% rebate on list price merchandise if you buy a lifetime membership for $20. REI sells Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, Diamond Back, Scott, Marin, and their well respected house brand Novara.

Trek just provides good value, large selection, and selling a used Trek is ez peasy. I still have my Trek 850 mtb I bought new in 1996. I rode a 7.3fx two years ago and found it quite sporting. I just picked up a 2006 Trek Pilot 1.2, low miles. While about $1000 new, for 75% less, it is fast and comfy. My other Treks are vintage steel: 360, 520, 520 Cirrus, and a 620. Light, smooth riding, durable and responsive.
