Thanks for the kind words, Mr. B! It'd sound A LOT better with some pro recording equipment but that costs a lot of money! For now, the Tascam 4-Track will have to do!

I don't think you're a bad guitarist, Mr. B. You have some chops for the songs you were playing in the video. As for the singing...well...don't burn your bridges with your day job, not that I have any room to talk or anything!

We're all our own worst critics. People have told me, "Wow, you should be in a band," or
"Wow, you're really good," etc. Who knows, maybe I am far better than what I think I am, but I'm not hearing it!

As some words of advice, it's not a bad idea to learn a few covers but you don't want to learn so many you become a carbon copy of one of your influences. It's okay to incorporate some of their style into your playing but you fail when you don't have a style you can call your own. For me, I do NOT like to learn other peoples' material. Right now in my lessons I'm learning "Stairway To Heaven," which of course is a great song, but Jimmy Page isn't one of my influences.

I've actually learned VERY FEW covers as "developing my own sound" is very important to me. The most offensive comment I could get about my playing isn't whether I suck or not but if someone tells me, "That sounds like ____." I do NOT want to sound like ANYONE else, regardless how great the band is that my music is being compared to.
