How can I tell if a crankset is octalink v1 or v2? FC-6503 Ultegra

I have a crankset that I wish to use. It has an octalink interface. I am just not sure if its v1 or v2. Whomever had it before me put an octalink v2 style BB on it but I'm not sure that is right. When I look at the splines on the crank, they look like that only a tiny bit will engage the splines on the BB. The BB is a BB-ES51 113mm 68mm shell.

Is that correct or was there a mismatch done here?
