Yea this is one of those things that seem to be way more common in discussion groups than out on the road. I have met a few folks using alcohol stoves, but they were a definite minority and a small one at that. I have noticed the same about other gear choices as well.

Some folks must be way more sensitive to the noise than I am. I can't imagine waking because of the sound of the likes of the SVEA in the same site, let alone one in another site, or in a neighboring RV.
