On the economics front Velocity will run fairly small batches. I now have 650B size A23 rims on one of our tandems that were ordered by one bike shop in a batch and is being resold. He also has some Synergy 650Bs with 40 holes that he special ordered.
By the way, anyone looking for a 700C wide light (426g) rim should check the A23 which is available from Velocity. Thesed are "tubeless ready" which means tires will fit more snugly than some rims because they are careful not to undersize the diameter.

I had looked at the A23, but crossed that off my list of potentials as even by Velocity's comments it is a lightweight race rim and they suggest it is targeted for specialty events such as hill climbs. So, it didn't seem beefy enough for tandem usage that ventured into less than ideal conditions (bumpy paths and occassional cobbles).
If you are having good success with these rims in a variety of conditions, that is amazing results.
