I've given you links to co-op type places in the Chicago area. They should have both mechanics and spare parts (components). I would suggest that you give them all a call concerning volunteering. Once you visit and get the gist of the place, you could most probably network and locate a bicycle mechanic and some parts that will allow you to repair your bike. Somewhere, between the co-ops, the videos, and this sub forum, you should be able to fix your bike. Whatever you do, don't give up!
