Not all old things are bad, just as not all new things are bad either. I don't race so I don't need a Cervelo, or one of the other bikes he mentioned, and I'm 60 years old and don't want a harsh riding racing CF bike. But to set the record straight the Lynskey will not have a tapered bottom bracket, down tube shifters, or a Brooks saddle, those are all on my one touring bikes. And I'm not a believer of taking a vintage bike and putting period incorrect components on it, so if comes with square taper BB, down tube shifters, etc then it will stay that way. I have a small classic car collection which I maintain in their factory original condition and not alter any to conform to modern progress; the cars will stay the way the factory intended just as my vintage bikes will stay...as the factory intended.
On a lighter note, suffice to say you have a taste for some of the stuff you grew up with. Btw, we are close to the same age and I grew up in the same era which I believe was the best possible era to grow up versus this dispicable assault on our society by a small splinter of people that want to harm people they don't even know. But I digress.
What cars do you have in your classic car collection?
