Well, it says Mountain on the chain stay protector. I actually took it for some hard riding on a golf cart path, and the wheels went out of true immediately. 4130 frame, 2x6 friction, tuna-can calipers, steel post, bars, crankset, rims, the whole deal. It's heavy, brother.

A fellow BF member is helping me move it to 90's components, drop a lot of weight in the process. 3x7 Rapid-Fires, Mavic 519's, alloy Raleigh crankset on a lighter road BB, alloy bar, seatpost, modern saddle, modern FD/RD. Once I get calipers, I'm good to go. A lot less steel, a lot more alloy, and it should be less fragile.
