I have a Masi Alare that I have had for only 3 weeks but I found what I think is a pretty good deal. I know a guy who is selling a 2003 Trek 1000 with a ton of upgrades for about 450$. It has 105 shifters, front and rear deraileur, 105 9-spd cassette, 105 double crankset, alex DA22 wheels, michelin dynamic tires, along with some other small things. The bike fits me well. My question is do you guys think that it is a worthwhile trade (meaning me buy this bike and sell my Masi for as much as I can get for it). The only thing that really concerns me is that he says the 1000 does not have a carbon fork...in 2003 didnt trek have carbon forks on all their road bikes? The bike seems like a deal to me, but I was wondering if I am best with my masi and waiting for another deal to come around. Just to clear things up, I'm not really looking to upgrade, but on the other hand I can't pass up a good deal if I find one.
