Once you realize that if you attack climbs with a good starting speed and tailwinds, it makes it all really pointless. I mean, I've ridden with people who are the top of the leaderboards and they're fast dudes no doubt.

I just use it to track progress and push myself to see if I can break a certain time. I don't take it seriously and just use it to see where the local climbs are(there practically aren't any real climbs in my area). It's also cool to look at how much your friends are riding or the kind of rides they're doing.

I'd say that racers care about the leaderboards more than your average club rider.
