Just FYI, the air at the top of Tioga Pass is 30% thinner than at sea level. Your power is proportionally reduced.

I camped at 10,000 feet several times in the last few years and I always marveled at how I start running out of breath just walking around when I first get there.

You would feel much better after a short acclimatization hike and one night at elevation.

Tioga Pass is interesting but it sounds like it'll only be open during the weekend when I'm riding Breathless Agony. If I decide to do Eastern Sierra Double, I'll drive out on Thursday and spend Thursday night in Onion Valley or Horseshoe Meadow.
