Hand and forearm cooling is fairly well documented due to the special needs of firefighters. They need to rapidly lower their core temperature during breaks without taking off all the bulky protective equipment.
Athletes on the other hand are free to wear next to nothing and can easily employ a variety of cooling techniques. Good product, wrong market.
I had a friend that did RAAM 6 times and was sponsored by a doctor's consortium that made a rival to this unit. I looked into it while I was in Texas. I'm pretty sure I could make one cheaper out of a Doc Johnson's enlarger, a 68 Dodge fuel pump, a car battery, a styrofoam ice chest, and one of those big foam hands you see at football games.
I just need a stolen wheelchair to move the rig around.
