I just picked up a slightly used 2012 Giant Defy 1 tonight. I took it for what I thought was a good test ride, about 5 miles with some rolling hills. All was good. But on the way home I had a short steep hill to climb, and as soon as I stood up on the pedals I started hearing a noise from the crank area. I couldn't tell for sure if it was a rub or a creak, the noise was difficult to describe. I went up the hill in both the big and small front chain rings and the noise was the same either way, so I'm thinking bottom bracket maybe??? The only two components replaced on the bike before it was sold to me were the bottom bracket and chain. The shop owner said it felt a little rough on one side when the bike was traded so he replaced it. Receipt says it's a BB91-B Press Fit Road Bottom Bracket. This is the newest bike I owned by far so know nothing about press fit BB's. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
