It's a sign of the times. Realistically this kind of ban won't make anyone safer, but it's about CYA for promoters and government officials. But it's to be expected after 2 jerks use backpacks to transport pressure cooker bombs in Boston.

On the bright side, they're actually doing the riders a favor. Who wants to drag around a backpack all day?

I'm waiting to see what school officials are going to say about backpacks in schools.
