These actually ride very nice. My wife has one and I've taken it out for a few miles. If anything, she's consistently mentioned how comfortable it is. Stock tires on the disc model are also 28c's which are thin enough for speed, but wide enough for comfort.
You must have really nice roads. Also note,I've ridden straight blade alloy forks more than 'a few miles';I've owned several. If I ran the zoo,all forks would be CF or steel.
