I wonder if you looked at shifting patterns and available gear ratios for your planned setup. If not I would suggest you use one of the many online gear calculators to look at how your new drivetrain would compare to what you have, including the range and specific ratios you most often ride. I for one prefer a 10 tooth difference between large and middle and 48/38/28 works well for me, but as I said you need to look at how things will work for you.
