I still stand by my original comment that the motorcyclists was plainly incompetent to be riding on a road with such bends and wasn't speed that caused the crash. Never have I suggested it had anything to do with luck!!??
He is no where near as leaned over the majority of the other videos posted on the videographers youtube channel including those that don't crash. I suggest he was nervous and was so focussed on taking the corner and just riding the motorbike that he wasn't looking through the bend. From the videos it does look like pretty good sight lines* if the rider is looking up the road.
*Haven't been there so can only go from the various photos and videos.
The suggestion that he was was going fast because he was travelling faster than the bike behind (since removed video) is also flawed. The guy behind whether a friend or not would have already noticed how tentative the guy in front was riding. With this in mind he possibly actually slowed to have more room between them so -
1. Not to crowd and potentially pressure him to do something stupid (obviously didn't help)
2. wanted enough room to take the corner with a safe buffer as he/she didn't want to adjust their speed in the corner (fundamental rule on two wheels approach the corner at the right speed - no braking or accelerations once in the corner).
3. Wanted more room to take the corner for the photographer with there knee touching so he buy the photo and brag to his mates!
It doesn't matter. It was his fault was the point. A top racer would have handled the curve with even more speed. This guy didn't have goods to be riding that fast and panicked in the end. The target fixation thing is over stated. Good riders make the curve even when going in over baked....or they low side trying.
There are lots of crappy riders out there riding over their head. For those that hurt others, they have to pay.
