I also agree, that price is to high.
For that money, I would say you could just about buy a nice high profile Italian like a Colnago or Tommasini, and for about $600, a whole world of other Italian beauties would be in your grasp to. It can't hurt to make the guy an offer though. It's tough to give up on a bike you really want.
