Wow . . nice crank. I've got the exact same crank, but in nowhere near that pristine condition!

As far as toe clips vs clipless: if you are going to hang your bike on the wall as a museum piece, go with the toe clips. If you are actually going to ride your bike out in the elements, go with clipless.

If you'd spent years on toe clips and were happy with them, that would be one thing, but to choose them for looks? No thanks. I have memories of thousands of miles on toe clips. If the straps were tightened down, I could kiss the feeling in the front of my foot goodbye. If they were loose, you could pull your foot out.
