YES YES YES, I made the mistake of not wearing my gloves for a ride, Ended up falling and taking a nickle size, (width and depth) chunk out of the bottom of my palm. Twas not fun.

I like full fingered gloves as well but as long as your palms are protected anything is good.

Plus you dont get as bad of calluses on your hands.
