Bikes: 2018 Specialized Roubaix Elite, 2009 Specialized Hard Rock 29er, 1989 Cannondale w/Campy Nuovo Record Components (mostly anway, now just on the trainer) and Easy Racer Recumbent (home made from plans)

Thanks for all the responses! I wish I could take my own advice. Problem is being 6'4" LBSs don't usually have many bikes to try. And it would be dumb luck if they had the model that I'm interested. Maybe they would order one in. Wondering about the Tiagra versus 105. I could get the higher model if I went with Tiagra. I'm used to Campy.

I know I don't need, and can't afford, top of the line. Moving down is still hard. Of course today's Tiagra/105 are probably better than my almost 30 year old Nuovo Record!

A lot to tink about!!
