Its not weaker than the original thread, its stronger, as the
coil is steel and the original thread most likely alloy.
Interesting; spark plugs wouldn't happen to have the same 9/16" 20TPI threading as a standard pedal, would it? I'm looking at a pedal eye right now and trying to think about spark plugs, I seem to recall them being bigger.
