Without specifically indicating models, the assumption would generally be that the OP is considering a switch from one level of Campy to a relatively similar level of Shimano, which is simply not an upgrade in any way, shape or form. Now, not liking Campy's thumb levers is a shortcoming in character, personality and indeed morals that is still somewhat understandable (if not completely forgiveable), but wishing to switch to a brand without the evidently far superior thumb levers is purely a personal decision...it ain't no upgrade by any objective measure.
As for the dwarf, well, her name was Rosie, and let's just say it didn't only exemplify her outlook on life...
