I unclip as I roll toward my stopping point, but leave my foot in place. If the light changes or whatever I can just push down and clip back in. I never leave it to the last moment, huh-uh. I always unclip the right side because that's what most folks do. So in a group, almost all of you will be leaning in the same direction. Also then impossible for a car to run over your left foot (in right-side driving countries). Although some people make it a point to unclip what will be their high-side foot. For me it would take a fair slant to make me do it that way, but I could of course.
