fwiw I loctite chain ring bolts. Blue loctite - sparingly. They resist a bit when you're undoing them, but give way with a tiny crack when the loctite lets go.
Never had problems with losing bolts or being able to undo them.
But then again, 99% of bike riders using normally oiled threads and no special attention don't have problems either.
