i admit there's a novelty to climbing steep hills, but if they're only a couple hundred yards long, it doesn't seem worth it to seek them out. i'd take a miles-long 8% climb over a a two block section of 15%.

that said, there's a hill in carlsbad called hemingway dr. about 1/3 of the way through my daily loop that pretty much kicks my @$$ everytime i do it. but that may only be because i push like hell to get up it everytime.
