I work in product development and could only wish to develop a product that is as good. Best bike I have owned and I have owned more bikes than just about anybody I know. The thing is OP...all the top bikes are excellent...Trek, Cannondale, Scott, Giant etc. In a recent group ride one rider just picked up a new Trek Domane...the bike with a hinge at the seat post. Me personally, I would prefer a H3 Madone because I like a like a long head tube, but when we placed the Domane next to my Roubaix, the similarities were striking in terms of frame shape. All the top brands have great DNA now. So pick the one you like and that fits best. Have fun.
Thank you for the sound advice - much appreciated.
As per your wise advice and after browsing a few of my LBS this morning I have shortlisted to the following: Specialized Roubaix SL$ PRO, Bianchi C2C Infinito and the Fondriest TF3 1.2 (also TF2 1.0). I too am a Campag fan and love the Italian connection with the Bianchi and Fondriest but have heard so many great things about the Roubaix from owners (in person as well as reviews). I just cant get used to the matt black aesthetic of the SL4 PRO frameset though and I have been advised to go for the PRO.
Will hopefully make a decision this week...
