If the OP had been posted in the Road Cycling list I'm confident he would have received the same type of responses as posted here (w/o any discussion of "kit" definition), perhaps a totally different set of responses if the OP was posted to a list with a different, or more diverse, subset of cyclists.
It was just a thought, I don't expect you to take my suggestions.
In the long run I doubt if it would make any difference what forum or group this was posted in because the answers are always the same as are the results. Happens with Brooks saddles, steel bikes, old bike verses new bikes, types of bike paths, Cloths, pedals, Helmets, wheels and bents. It is the simple ebb and flow of most chat groups.
