Jesus, is it that hard to take a compliment? I mean if someone notices my bike is nice - even if Phil Wood might as well be my dog's name for all they care - I appreciate it, and even if I don't, I don't make them feel dumb for trying to say something nice. I mean, it's not as though they think you're aren't aware that your bike is nice or that trackstanding takes practice - they're just saying "good job."
On a tangent this made me think of Quentin Tarantino's character in Pulp Fiction, whose wife makes ****ty coffee - I suppose he had pretty good reason to be testy about the compliment, though.
